Three people were killed and two sustained critical injuries after a three-vehicle collision in South Texas during inclement weather. According to Public Safety Trooper Anthony Flores, investigators are still ascertaining if the heavy rains played a factor in the crash, which occurred near the City of Stockdale. Texas DPS reported a pickup truck heading south on Texas State Highway 123, where it careened into another pickup truck heading the opposite direction.
A third pickup slammed into the two totaled trucks seconds later. Both passengers in the first pickup—65-year-old Charles Redden and 61-year-old Sandra Redden—died at the scene of the accident. A passenger in the second truck, 76-year-old Ladonna Speer, also died during the crash. The two other drivers were immediately transported to a hospital in San Antonio.
