A fatal car accident in Midland, Texas claimed the lives of one Mobile woman’s three children, as well as her ex-husband. According to investigators, the January 14 accident happened when a Ford Pickup heading east hydroplaned on the highway and veered into the westbound lanes. The Ford pickup crashed into a Chevy Impala heading west, which had Neva Rogers’ three eldest children, ages 12, 14, 16, as well as her ex-husband, Kantrell Hires.
Authorities reportedly told Neva that the Ford truck was over the speed limit and skidded because of the wet roads, crossing the median. Hires and two of the children died at the scene, but emergency responders were able to rush the eldest child to a hospital, where she succumbed to injuries. The Texas District Attorney’s Office has announced that it will press charges against the driver of the Ford pickup.
The DA requested that the bodies of the victims, who were previously en route to Mobile, be brought in for autopsies.
