One of the questions we often hear client’s ask, either via the web, or when they contact us, is whether or not they can handle their case on their own. You might be surprised at our answer to this common question. To help answer this question, I created a video that discusses handling your own injury case.
A common question people often have after they’ve been injured in a car accident is “whether or not they should hire a San Antonio car accident lawyer?” You may be surprised by my answer to this question.
When we talk about people handling their own cases, most people assume that an injury attorney is going to tell them that a person should never handle their own case. But at my firm, that’s quite contrary to what we actually believe and practice. In fact, we believe that there are many circumstances for which a person can, and should, handle their own injury claim.
There are circumstances when you’re in a car accident or car wreck, you may not need an attorney and I’ll be the first one to tell you that. There are probably aren’t a lot of other injury attorneys out there that are going to tell you this, because by telling you that you can handle your own car accident claim, that generally means that it’s less business for the attorney. However, we turn cases many potential clients away, not because we don’t want their case, but simply because their case is such that the client can do it themselves without an attorney.
That being said, there are some situations, and traps that you have to be aware of in injury cases, and there are some certain scenarios which you should NOT try to handle the claim on your own.
