Officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety reported that a motorist was killed in a fatal car crash involving a pickup truck on Texas Highway 6, near Sadberry Road in Robertson County last week, October 28. The crash occurred when the tire of a pickup truck, hauling a horse trailer heading north on Texas 6, exploded, causing its driver to lose control and swerve into the southbound lanes.
The momentum caused the pickup and the trailer carrying two horses to roll over. Another pickup heading south crashed into the truck, forcing the southbound driver to go off the side of the road. The driver of the truck hauling the horse trailer was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The other driver was transported to a nearby hospital with unconfirmed injuries.
Authorities were also able to rescue the two horses in the trailer, but a dog in the truck died from injuries sustained in the collision.
