A motorcycle accident on the Southeast side of San Antonio has left the rider critically injured. According to SAPD, the accident occurred at around 8:00 pm on Sunday August 24th when another car pulled in front of the motorcycle at the intersection of Loop 410 and Southton Road, causing the motorcycle driver to lose control.
The motorcycle entered the center median, was unable to maintain control, and struck the center guardrail. The motorcyclist was transported to SAMMC in critical condition, suffering from severe internal injuries. The driver was conscious when paramedics arrived, but was struggling to breathe. Motorcycle accidents claim the lives of thousands of riders in the U.S. every year, and most of these accidents are not the fault of the motorcyclist, but rather of careless drivers who fail to look before changing lanes, or pulling into traffic.
